Home Learning
Home Learning at St. Patrick and St. Edmund’s
At St. Patrick and St. Edmund’s, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to help every child reach their full potential. When school and parents work together, children thrive in their learning.
At the start of each academic year, we ask parents to commit to a Partnership Agreement, which outlines:
- The school’s responsibilities towards children and parents
- Parents’ responsibilities towards their child’s learning and the school
- Our expectations for each child
Homework and Parental Support
Education is a shared responsibility, and homework plays an important role in reinforcing what children learn in school. We encourage parents to actively support their child’s homework, offering guidance and encouragement while allowing them to complete tasks independently.
Research shows that children perform better when parents take an interest in their learning. Taking just 15–20 minutes each evening to help with spellings, times tables, or reading can make a significant difference.
Most importantly, please ensure that homework is completed and returned on time so your child can make the most of their learning. Your support is invaluable in building good learning habits and boosting your child’s confidence.
