Welcome to St Patrick and St Edmund's Catholic Primary School
It is a great pleasure to lead our vibrant and nurturing school community, alongside our Executive Headteacher Ms K. Marston, where Catholic Values are the heart of everything we do. As a newly amalgamated school serving the Ladywood and Winson Green areas of Birmingham, we are proud of our rich diversity and inclusive ethos. Our children and families come from all over the world, and together we form a united school family rooted in Gospel values and mutual respect.
At St Patrick and St Edmund's, we are committed to educating the whole child - academically, spiritually, morally and socially. Our mission is to 'shine the light of God's love as we move forward together in Christ, " and we strive to ensure that every child feels valued, included, and safe, with the opportunity to flourish in a loving and supportive environment.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum enriched with opportunities for spiritual growth, creative expression, and academic excellence. From early reading and mathematics to history and religious education, our curriculum is carefully planned to help children build knowledge, develop skills, and grow in confidence. Our pupils are encouraged to live out Christian values daily - showing kindness, compassion and respect in all they do.
We are proud of our pupils' behaviour, their reverence in worship, and their enthusiasm for learning. They are active participants in school life, taking on leadership roles, engaging in charitable work and contributing positively to our community. Whether through Mass, prayer, or service, our children learn to recognise their unique worth as children of God and to respond to His call with joy and purpose.
Here are just some of the things that make our school special:
- A distinctive Catholic ethos that welcomes and celebrates all cultures, languages and beliefs.
- A strong sense of community, where staff , pupils, and families work together in partnership.
- A dedicated and caring team of educators who go above and beyond to support every child.
- A safe stimulating learning environment, with tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
- A curriculum rooted in Gospel values, designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and resilience.
- Opportunities for enrichment and leadership, including faith-based initiatives, community projects and extra-curricular activities.
- A commitment to Catholic social teaching, encouraging pupils to care for others and the world around them.
Thank you for choosing St Patrick and St Edmund's for your child’s education. I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our school and discover the many ways we live, pray and learn together in Christ.

Our Mission Statement
As dynamic nurturing schools, we at St Patrick and St Edmund's will shine the light of God's love as we move forward together in Christ. Through our Gospel values, we aim:
- To make all in our school family feel they are included, valued and respected and have a positive contribution to make. To provide a welcoming, bright and stimulating environment where all children feel happy secure and safe and to inspire all in our community to be successful in their learning.
- To create a school family where tolerance and understanding are promoted and where the different spiritual, cultural moral and personal worlds in which we live are harmonised to form the roots which will hold our children secure.
- To instil in our children, through Mass, worship and prayer, a lasting belief in their unique worth as children of God, guided and blessed by His love on their journey through life.
- To encourage the school community to bear witness to Gospel values handed down by Christ in the Beatitudes. To treat others with love, forgiveness, compassion and respect as Jesus taught us.
- To nurture children of whom families and school can be justly proud - children who are hardworking, confident, caring role models who leave our school friends with God and with one other, ready for the challenges that life brings.
