Nursery
St. Patrick and St. Edmund’s Catholic Primary School offers a 26-place Nursery Unit located on Rosebery Street, Springhill, Birmingham B18 7PA, just a short distance from our Infant site.
Important Admissions Information:
Please note that attendance at our Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception. Parents must apply separately for a Reception place through the Local Authority (LA) admissions process, following the school's admissions criteria. For further details, you can request a copy of our Admissions Policy from the school office or access it on our website.
Nursery Provision
Children join our Nursery Class in the September following their third birthday. Our Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports early development. While Nursery and Reception operate separately, they work closely together to create a seamless transition for children who move on to Reception.
How to Apply
Prospective parents are warmly invited to visit the Nursery. To apply, parents must:
- Complete an application form
- Provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate
- Provide a Baptismal certificate (if applicable)
Parents applying for a Nursery place for the following September will be contacted in the summer term to confirm their continued interest. Admissions decisions are made by a panel of Governors, in line with our admissions criteria. Parents will be notified of the outcome in April.
Settling In
Once a place is offered, our Nursery team will arrange a home visit to get to know the child and their family. Parents will also receive a Nursery prospectus/handbook, and their child will be invited to introductory sessions to help them settle in.
For more information or to arrange a visit, please contact the school office.
